Orange Romania launched My Network, an app for smartphones powered by Android which enables end-users surf the web at the best available internet speeds by accessing Orange's mobile network at 4G+, 4G, 3G+ or 3G speeds, available Orange Wi-Fi networks or preferred Wi-Fi networks, according Telecompaper. With My Network, end-users can choose favorite Wi-Fi networks to which they connect to automatically when these are in their coverage area, can see available networks in their area and the network they are connected to.
Also through My Network, end-users can find the closest Orange Wi-Fi hotspots and receive notifications concerning the networks that can be accessed when they are in a network with preferred Wi-Fi networks or when they connect to their mobile network.
The My Network app is available to all but is optimised for Orange customers as they have access to additional functions such as connecting to Orange Wi-Fi networks with Sim based authentication, namely without the need for introducing a user name or password and automatic control of the Wi-Fi interface. The app is free and can be installed on any smartphone powered by Android 4.x and having a 800x480 pixels resolution. The traffic generated for downloading the app from PlayStore is charged according to end-users' existing tariff plan.
