Romanian Internet end-users experienced higher average download speeds in H2 2017, 115 Mbps for fixed Internet and 20 Mbps for mobile Internet, according to statistics from telecommunications authority Ancom's app Netograf.ro, according Telecompaper. Fixed Internet download speeds were 5.5 percent higher nationwide and mobile Internet download speeds rose by 4.3 percent compared to H1 2017.
RCS&RDS has the highest fixed Internet download speed, 132.6 Mbps, followed by UPC with 120.66 Mbps, NextGen Communications with 85.97 Mbps, Telekom Romania Communications with 66.36 Mbps, and Digital Cable Systems with 40.11 Mbps. On the mobile segment, Orange Romania has the highest Internet download speeds, 24.86 Mbps, followed closely by its main rival Vodafone Romania with 24.6 Mbps, Telekom Romania Mobile Communications with 21.72 Mbps and RCS&RDS with 8.49 Mbps.
The average mobile upload speed rose 10 percent to 9.49 Mbps in the second half of 2017, while the average fixed service upload speed remained approximately constant, 92.77 Mbps.
