It doesn't matter whether you are one of the largest businesses in the country or a one-man show, there are certain things clients have become accustomed to. Your best customers take things a step further and expect to gain "inside" knowledge as to what your company is doing.

Reaching out to clients can seem time consuming, but there are easy ways for businesses of every size to use technology to keep connected with customers. Plus with the decreasing price of technology, there is no reason to leave them out in the cold. Here are three ways to keep in touch with clients.

Define Your "platform"

Your platform is the definition of what your business means to customers. Are you the low-priced flat-panel and wiring guy or the high-end home theater designer? The more narrowly you define your business, the easier it is for your customers to help you. That is the base of your platform.

A theme can add an angle to your platform as well. For example, Steve Jobs' theme is "simple." He re-enforces that theme with his black turtleneck and jeans. His theme adds to the Apple platform.

Reach Out to Clients

Use multiple unique advertising path or communications method. Try sending a "Thank You" card after every payment and referral or use e-mail systems like MailChimp or AWeber to build a newsletter and keep your clients up-to-date.

When business gets slow, find a referral deal and send it out to your customers. Become their go-to guy for iPad apps, and you'll be their go-to guy when they are ready to buy.

Don't Make Customers Chase You Down

If you can't afford to have someone sitting at a desk answering phones, get a service or virtual office.
