Generation Z grew with state-of-the-art technology and imposes the new trends in the digital field. It is connected 24/7 to digital platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, online channels that represent the main way of interacting and communicating for young people in this age group. “Connections is for Telekom more than just an event. It is an experience through which we want to create sustainable and impact-proof communication bridges alongside the young generation of digital natives. Together with some of the most appreciated professionals in the digital field, we will address in a relaxed setting topics that define this era. We invite participants to play an active role, because we will try together to discuss the best practices in digital communication. I mention this in the context in which influencers have become models of the new generation, and traditional communication is no longer the main means of transmitting information. It is very important to understand properly the role they have and to adapt the communication tools. Through Connections we wish to write an important page in the history of the social media phenomenon", stated Ruxandra Vodă, Corporate Communication Director, Telekom Romania.

According to a Google research, 65% of people aged 18-24 watch videos online for more than 3 hours per day, 40% spend more than 3 hours per day on social networking, and 38% spend at least 3 hours per day on texting. Moreover, 88% of them make purchases online, which determines a growing interest among companies to understand the factors that matter in the buying decisions.

Not surprisingly, influencers have an increasingly important role in the communication process among the young generation.
