Connex Vodafone opened its first telecentre as part of the 'Universal Service' program, in Borlova '“ Turnu Ruieni, Caras Severin county.

'We are happy to support people from communities with limited access to communications services get connected to the world and communicate easier. As part of the Universal Service program, Connex Vodafone will be opening other 5 telecentres, until February 20, in villages from Cluj, Suceava and Vaslui counties. By the end of April 2006, Connex Vodafone will have established a total of 11 telecentres', said Liliana Solomon, Chief Executive Officer Connex Vodafone.

Each Connex Vodafone telecentre is endowed with phones, computers, multifunctional machines (fax, printer, copy machine) and office furniture. Connex Vodafone offers a complete package of voice, data and fax services at affordable tariffs, allowing inhabitants to make and receive local, national and international calls, to access the Internet, to send and receive faxes, and to send national SMS'™s through the Web2SMS service.

Connex Vodafone offers additional services like web hosting and web sites development support. Local authorities can use this opportunity to build the village`s web page, thus increasing the touristic and economic potential of the community.
The telecentres also benefit from a free e'“mail account (e.g. telecentru_borlova@myx.net).

In addition, local people have free and permanent access to 112 national emergency number through a phone located in the outdoor premises of the telecentre.
