COSMOTE Romania is pleased to announce that, starting today, COSMOTE customers have the possibility to receive SMS notifications from Twitter, free of charge. "Twitter has turned into a relevant tool of communicating for many COSMOTE users so we decided to ease their Social Media approach with a service messaging product which offers all our customers the possibility to receive Twitter alerts, free of charge. As the Romanian Twitter users are very influential in their areas, tech-aware and good communicators, we come with this new service in order to complete their mobile internet experience" stated Gabriel Ionita (photo), Senior Manager, Products & Services Development, COSMOTE Romania.
Basically, COSMOTE Romania users will thus be aware of the Tweets posted by the people they follow, set up the timeline for receiving the SMS alerts and will also be able to post Tweets via SMS or access the short-blogging platform using the web’n’walk service or the data traffic. Users will be able to receive SMS notifications for Tweets from certain Twitter accounts.
To activate the service, the user has to have a valid Twitter account or create a new one through SMS interactions. The synchronizing with the Twitter account will be initiated with sending a text listed on the account (example: "START") to the short number 89338, and then the user will receive a confirmation message. Once activated the service, the user will be able to manage all the accounts followed. The users will also be able to activate the service using the Twitter website.
