RCS&RDS' Digi Mobil division reduced roaming charges for customers travelling within the European Economic Area (EEA-EU member states, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), according Telecompaper. Customers benefit from up to 50 percent discounts on data rates, minutes and SMS used in roaming from 1 November. A significant reduction of 47 percent applies to mobile data used in roaming, the tariff being reduced to EUR 0.00336 (without VAT) per MB (EUR 3.36 per GB).
The roaming charge for an incoming call from any EU or EEA country to a number in Romania drops to EUR 0.0215 per minute, while the price for a call received in any EU or EEA country remains the same, EUR 0.0108 per minute. The cost of a text message was halved to EUR 0.005 per SMS. Messages received in EU / EEA countries do not involve any additional costs.
