Max TV, the new television network that offers topnotch reception of TV programs in any location will be officially launched today, announce Digital Cable System member companies. The service is based on the agreement signed between DCS and NSAB (Nordic Satellite AB) for satellite TV broadcasting (Direct-To-Home '“ DTH).

'Entertainment services enter a new dimension these days. Starting today, TV viewers can enjoy their favorite shows anywhere through direct, wireless satellite access. This is part of our efforts to meet the needs of people living in remote areas that cannot be reached by terrestrial means. We also have in mind the people on the move who want to stay informed and have access to entertainment wherever they are,' Gheorghe Minea, DCS Chairman, said.

The new television network is built on the satellite broadcast solutions provided by NSAB through the Sirius satellite system. It offers the widest European coverage and the best signal on Romania'™s territory. TV cable companies that are part of the DCS corporation enjoy strong local presence and direct user contact. The new service meets viewers'™ need for mobility and promotes a new TV signal reception standard.

'We are pleased to help Romanians enjoy higher quality and comfort. The satellite reception system makes way for a new step in the development of communications, whether we talk about television, radio, data, internet or multimedia. We trust all these will be soon available in Romania,' Lennart Bjorn, Senior Sales Representative, NSAB, highlighted.

NSAB's main Romanian and European competitors are Eutelsat, Amos and Intelsat.

Other DTH services in Romania were previously lanched by Focus Sat (Focus Sat service, November 2004, relaunched June 2005 together with UPC) and by RCS (DigiTV, April 2005). DTH Television Group (Magic DTH) also holds a DTH licence.
