Apart from being interested in making its own mobile OS, HTC is also (obviously) planning ahead when it comes to the features of its future smartphones.
During a recent even in South Africa (where HTC launched the Desire, the Legend and the Smart), one of the Taiwanese company’s officials mentioned that future HTC smartphones will come with HD (1080p) video recording, and 5.1 surround sound (from Yamaha, not from Dobly).
Reportedly, HD video recording might be included in HTC handsets as soon the second quarter of 2011, while 5.1 surround sound may come even earlier.
In the third quarter of this year, HTC plans to launch smartphones with HSPA+, which will provide data transfer speeds of up to 14.4Mbps. Maybe one of these smartphones is the Wildfire (or Jovi, or Zeal, or Festi)?
HTC – maker of the incredible Droid Incredible for Verizon – also talked about its rumored Android tablet, which could feature both Wi-Fi and HSPA (like Apple’s 3G iPad), although it "may not be an actual tablet." Uhm, ok, that’s very straightforward.
