IFA, in association with A.S.S. Concert & Promotion and FKP Scorpio Konzertproduktionen, is presenting the high flyers from the British charts: The Kooks. With the assistance of rbb-Radio Eins and the music magazine unclesally*s, the opening concert of IFA will take place in the Summer Garden on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds on 2 September 2010.
The debut album, "Inside In/Inside Out", by the four-man indie band from Brighton went double platinum, achieving sensational sales of two million, and made No. 2 on the UK charts.
No less sensation was the ease with which the English quartet followed up this success with their second album, entitled "Konk". Topping the UK charts and a top ten placing in Germany indicate that, while the Kooks may be young, they already have a well-developed ear for memorable pop-rock melodies. The contribution by star producer Tony Hoffer has ensured a first-class sound for the second album. The Kooks are now at work on their third album, due for release in October. The band will be presenting some of their new songs at the opening concert of IFA. The names of the special guests will be announced shortly.
