With over 150 events in the Summer Garden, all kinds of chances to meet international stars and starlets, tasty cooking shows, IFA has a fascinating programme of entertainment to offer in its 50th edition year.

The successful UK band The Kooks are due to perform only one concert in Germany this year, namely the opening concert at IFA. Sponsored by rbb-Radio Eins and the music magazine unclesally*s, the concert will take place in the IFA Summer Garden on 2 September 2010, the eve of the show. An up-and-coming young rock band, The Courteeners, will support The Kooks as their special guests. On Saturday evening a live performance by SCOOTER, one of Germany’s most successful bands, will transform the open air stage in the Summer Garden into a dance floor.

All the major TV networks, ARD, ZDF, n-tv, N24 and a first this year Super RTL and Sport 1 will be represented with stands and studios at IFA. For the first time this year the Cologne-based TV broadcaster Super RTL will transform an entire show hall into a colourful discovery world for families and their children. Live coverage, exciting games all to do with this station’s TV formats, imaginative discovery worlds, popular children’s shows such as Bob the Builder and lots of stars await children and their parents visiting the IFA, both in this hall and in the Summer Garden on the weekend.

The daily programme of events in the Summer Garden with "Antenne Café" will be presented by Inka Bause, Kira Herbrandt and Jürgen Karney. Boasting a new formation, Queensbeery will be sure get the audience in a partying mood. Lou Bega will fascinate the crowds with latin rhythms and Destivo’s tunes will bring back holiday memories. What is more, the East Star Band, Kensington Road, Medlz, Berge, The Baseballs, Meg Pfeiffer, Papes Brüder, Tommy Reeve and Bell Book & Candle are also entertaining the public at IFA.

Visitors to IFA will be able to savour culinary delights on the stages and try out fresh delicacies at the bartending show as well as from Germany’s barbecue champion. This year the search is on again for Germany’s ironing champion. A full programme of sports entertainment awaits visitors to the SPORT1 sports bar in Hall 7.2c, where there will be daily live coverage of the latest sporting action.

Once again YOUNG IFA will be fast, noisy and flashy at the 50th edition of IFA. Visitors will be able to try things out, surf the web or will simply be amazed – YOUNG IFA 2010 in Hall 7.2c will offer all its visitors an unforgettable time, with a wide variety of entertainment, celebrities and fun. Anyone with a day ticket or student ticket can visit YOUNG IFA, with everything it has to offer. A student ticket to IFA costs only EUR 5.50 from advance sales outlets, and is available only on presentation of a valid school pass.

From 3 to 8 September IFA will be celebrating its 50th edition on the Berlin Exhibition Site. The show is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
