Telekom Romania launches Managed Wi-Fi, a service of wireless Internet with data analytics components for companies which became available for commercial use after a period of tests. Telekom Managed Wi-Fi is the newest solution of wireless Internet in the company’s portfolio after last year’s launch of Fon for individual customers and GCA (Global Corporate Access) for companies. Moreover, starting this year, a new innovative solution for public spaces is available – the digital tree – a solar charger for mobile devices with incorporated Wi-Fi. Telekom Managed Wi-Fi is a B2B complete solution based on CISCO equipment, efficient in offices and in vast public spaces, such as hotels, restaurants, malls, stores and other public interest areas. End users benefit from free access to internet and companies can extract relevant data for their business, based on the used traffic. For example, the owner of a restaurant can find out how many times a customer visited the restaurant and can send him/her special offers. Store owners can identify the aisles that are less circulated and can reconsider their strategy to organize the store, according to the data obtained. A hotel can have a better ranking due to the quality of the provided wireless service, and the stability of the service can be determined by the number of users that are simultaneously connected, information that offers insight on how to resize the number of access points.

The solution also offers data about the area with the most intense traffic, according to time-frames, and can be used by local administration and placed in parks as part of Smart City projects. This information can be further processed for the redesign of the space in question or to efficiently manage security services in the area.

Managed Wi-Fi includes, is available starting with 30 Euros/month, without VAT, for each of the access points. To the standard service one can add a landing page adapted to the design elements of the customer, advanced analytics functions, access points with bigger capacity or appropriate for bad meteorological conditions, other network equipment or related structural cabling; the costs vary depending on these extra options.
