FIRST OF ITS KIND! The only event focusing on how optimising mobile video traffic will help operators monetise data TAKE PART in interactive debates looking at traffic trends and the future role of WiFi and network sharing DISCOVER what the operators metric is: Quality of Experience Vs Quality of Service NETWORK and develop two-sided business models with the industry’s leading players ANALYSE how deep in mobile infrastructure can CDN Services be deployed UNDERSTAND the importance of optimising outside of the MNO
Pre-Conference Workshop A
Workshop Objective:
Exploring how to use strategy, market knowledge and allignment between commercial and technical functions to bolster network optimisation. Using experience gained during the hyper growth of the early internet, the early roll out of CDNs and recent projects around the world in mobile data we will explore techniques to best optimize the mobile operator’s response to the onslaught of video and other ‘killer’ applications.
Pre-Conference Workshop B
Best Practices in Deploying Video Optimisation
Across geographies, video is now the leading driver of total data traffic on mobile networks at an average of 50%. In some networks, data volume due to video content is approaching 70%. Compared with 40% in 1Q 2011, this indicates a 10% increase in data volume driven by video on mobile networks worldwide. The only way that mobile network operators can meet subscriber demand for network capacity and realize the growth potential of mobile data is by improving the utilization and performance of their network resources. Operators also need to ensure the highest possible quality of experience (QoE) for their subscribers during periods of network congestion and be able to differentiate service plans based on subscriber QoE in order to fully monetize the traffic on their networks. Because of these factors, Video Optimization has become a mission-critical weapon in operators’ arsenal.
