Moldova's pay-TV market provided through IPTV networks continued to grow in the first 9 months on the backdrop of a decreasing cable TV market, according to data provided by telecommunications authority Anrceti. The number of IPTV  subscribers rose by about 10 percent from the end of 2017 to 153,400, while IPTV revenues increased by 2 percent to MDL 56.5 million. At the same time, the number of cable TV subscribers decreased by 10.6 percent to about 164,700, and the volume of sales of these services decreased by 2.8 percent compared to the similar period of 2017 to MDL 62.6 million, according Telecompaper.
 
The cumulative number of pay-TV subscribers decreased by 1.6 percent in the first 9 months to 318,600. At the same time, pay TV market sales diminished by 0.6 percent compared to the first 9 months of 2017 to MDL 119.1 million. APRU of operators on this market decreased by 8.2 percent to MDL 41.
 
Out of the total number of digital TV subscribers, 68.5 percent used TV services over IP networks and 31.5 percent via cable networks. Digital TV subscribers accounted for 61.8 percent of the total, and analogue TV subscribers represented 38.2 percent.
 
In terms of revenue, Moldtelecom had the highest market share, 34.4 percent, followed by Sun Communications with 20.5 percent and TV Box with 12.7 percent. The cumulative market share of the other suppliers was 32.4 percent.
