Orange, the leader of mobile telecommunications in Romania, announced on 30th August 2007 the launching of Personal Space, a new online service incorporating the services SIM Agenda Back-up, Group Text Messaging, Anniversary Messages and Out of office, as well as an interactive feature for Orange customers. Personal Space lets Orange customers create their own profile with a personal description and a photo, see the status of other online users, search for users by various criteria and communicate with them by instant messaging or text messages.
The service is grouped into three main sections: Backup & Restore, Messaging and Networking.
Backup & Restore features services which safeguard against data loss and enable data recovery. This section includes the service SIM Agenda Back-up, a secure way of saving phone numbers from a SIM card onto the Orange server confidentially.
The Messaging section features services which enable swift communication via text messages with large groups of recipients or individuals and allows Orange customers to send text messages even when then cannot answer phone calls. This section includes Group Text Messaging and Out of office.
The Networking section lets you communicate online by instant messaging, chat and schedule automatic greeting messages for your friends’ special occasions. It includes Anniversary Messages and Personal Space chat.
Each time they access Personal Space online, Orange customers receive a single-use password valid for one session. If set up all the services available on Personal Space at the same time, Orange customers pay 0.40 euro per month plus the cost of text messages sent using Group Text Messaging, Anniversary Messages or Out of office. In Personal Space chat, instant messages are sent free of charge over the web.
All Personal Space services are available to Orange customers with service plans. Orange PrePay users get access to all Personal Space services apart from Anniversary Messages and Out of office. Personal Space can be set up through Self Care on *100# or by calling Customer Services free.
