Orange Romania reported its turnover up 10.4 percent year-on-year in Q3. Growth was mainly driven by positive developments in mobile data usage and customer consolidation, according Telecompaper. On 30 September, the combined number of mobile and fixed services was up 2.5 percent versus the previous quarter to 30.2 million.
 
On 30 September, 2.9 million customers used Orange 4G/LTE services, 50 percent more compared to the end of the third quarter of 2016. This trend is supported by continued 4G/LTE network investments. The 4G/LTE network covered 90.9 percent of the country's population at the end of September, and 4G +/LTE-A is available in 68 cities. 
 
Mobile internet traffic kept its growth rate in the third quarter, doubling over the same period last year. Similarly to the second quarter, 4G/LTE traffic grew 3.5 times in Q3 versus Q3 2016.
 
The sales of connected devices (smartwatches, fitness boots, robots, kids watches, VR glasses, gaming consoles, smart TVs) are on the increase. Sales generated by this product category are up 90 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period last year. 
 
Also, the sales of home-connected objects rose more than 30 percent compared to the third quarter. On 30 September, the number of customers using the Orange Home TV cable and satellite television service was of approximately 369,000 customers, up 17 percent over the same period in 2016. Fixed broadband customers reached 138,000 subscribers at the end of Q 3, up 12 percent versus Q2.
