Greek incumbent OTE announced plans to adopt the name of its mobile unit Cosmote for all its operations. OTE said the rebranding is already underway and will be launched in the "following period", with Cosmote used for all services, fixed, mobile and internet from the company, according Telecompaper. This follows the operational integration of its fixed and mobile activities already. The rebranding is a notable departure from the trend elsewhere in the Deutsche Telekom group, where the German operator has been rolling out the Telekom name and magenta colour and pricing at many of its eastern European subsidiaries. This includes OTE's own subsidiary Telekom Romania. Deutsche Telekom is the largest shareholder in OTE.
