Fixed operator Romtelecom and mobile operators Cosmote Romania and Zapp will merge in September under the brand Telekom Romania, according to local publication Economica.net citing market sources, according Telecompaper. Cosmote will operate under the brand Telekom Romania Mobil, while Romtelecom will provide services under the Telekom Romania Fix brand. Earlier reports said the two entities may adopt the T brand of parent company Deutsche Telekom. In May, shareholders of OTE approved an agreement for its subsidiaries Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania to take a licence to use Deutsche Telekom's branding.
