A total number of 37 projects were registered at the fourth edition of Teimplici.ro projects contest organized by Telekom Romania. For the 2018 edition, organized under the umbrella "Education for a new generation", Telekom aimed to identify and fund with up to 30,000 euros initiatives developed by non-governmental organizations that have the objective of reducing school dropout in urban areas, among young people aged between 12 and 20 years old. The interested NGOs were able to register up to two projects each on the Teimplici.ro platform, from 29 October 2018 to 18 January 2019.
Following the mid-term evaluation, 7 projects entered the final stage, presenting the projects to the jury. Following the jury's assessment and in accordance with the Regulation, 3 projects were selected to benefit from Telekom's total funding of 60,000 euros in 2019.
"At the fourth edition of Teimplici.ro projects contest, we wanted to address one of the major problems facing Romanian educational system, school dropout. An important criterion in selecting the projects was the use of technology solutions or the inclusion of new technologies in the educational process, in order to enhance the attractiveness of the teaching activities, but also to familiarize students with technology. This approach is in line with the company's strategy to support digital transformation by facilitating access to technology for the entire Romanian society", stated Florina Şerban, Corporate Responsibility Expert, Telekom Romania.
The winner projects are:
1.  „EDULIER-PENTRU TEENE(RI)”, initiated by the Edulier Association, which aims to support students in Buftea, Ilfov County, by creating a network of mentorship resources to reduce the absenteeism/school dropout rate.
2. „DĂM UN BYTE DE AJUTOR!”, initiated by the Atelier Without Borders Association, which aims to reduce school dropout among students in Hunedoara County by providing access to online resources, learning platforms, programming and robotics workshops in the schools that will be equipped with computers.
