UPC Romania expects to expand its fixed network coverage by 3% this year. This, according to its head Mihnea Radulescu (photo), speaking to Ziarul Financiar, will be the same as in 2018, but somewhat lower than in the period 2015-17. He added that its costs have risen and these have to be passed on to customers, though the company will maintain its service levels, according broadbandtvnews.com.

UPC Romania’s services reached 3.12 million homes at the end if 2018, or 84,000 (3%) more than a year earlier. It is currently in the process of being sold, along with Liberty Global’s operations in Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic, to Vodafone, with the deal awaiting final approval from the European Commission.
