Vodafone Germany said it has activated mobile base stations in the cities of Hannover and Hamburg, enabling Vodafone customers in these cities to surf LTE internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbps, according Telecompaper. These two cities are the third and forth cities in Germany following Berlin and Duesseldorf to have the fastest mobile base stations in the country, said Vodafone.
Customers in over 30 additional cities across Germany have access to mobile internet at speeds of up to 500 Mbps, while Vodafone upgraded 1,000 mobile base stations last year to be LTE compatible.
