Vodafone Romania announced on 10th October 2007 that it will migrate towards a fully IP-based Core Network, including the latest industry standards.
From April 2008, when the process will have been completed, Vodafone Romania will use a common IP-based Core Network for all its services - 2G, 3G, fixed voice and fixed data - with improved efficiency and increased levels of network resilience.
Vodafone Romania selected Huawei Technologies to deploy the IP-based mobile softswitch network migration solution.

This project will enable Vodafone Romania to continue to offer its customers innovative services, based on a flexible and highly reliable network. This deployment can considerably improve the efficiency of our network and support its further evolution, enabling us to offer the best communications services”, said Vishant Vora, Chief Technical Officer, Vodafone Romania.
