Deutsche Telekom AG said on 1st of March it will cut its brand name in Germany to a "T" as part of its efforts to integrate its fixed line and mobile operations in its home market, according Dow Jones Newswires. Deutsche Telekom made this announcement at a press conference in the run-up of CeBIT technology fair. Up to now Deutsche Telekom uses the T-Mobile brand for its mobile and the T-Home brand for its fixed line operations in Germany. At the press conference Christian P. Illek, the company's marketing manager for its German operations, also said Deutsche Telekom targets 2.5 million to 3 million customers for its internet protocol television, or IPTV, offer 'Entertain' by 2012. Deutsche Telekom's Entertain, which competes with Sky Deutschland AG's on paid premium TV content, counted 1 million subscribers as of Dec. 31 and wants to expand its subscriber base by 600,000 in the course of this year. News Corp., which owns Dow Jones, publisher of this newswire, has a 45.42% stake in Sky Deutschland AG, formerly known as Premiere AG.
